Keynote Session– Everything You Need to Know About Data Strategy You Learned in Kindergarten
Lisa Dodson, Global Technology Practice Manager, SAS
Data strategies to date have been developed primarily with a focus on operational reporting and answering a set of known questions. Recent advancements in technology, the rise of ‘big’ data and the exponential increase in the desire to leverage advanced analytics is forcing a change in how we manage data. We must look at how data may be used outside of traditional operational reporting and align our data strategy to our overall strategic ‘business’ initiatives. In this presentation we will discuss what the 5 key components to a modern data strategy are and the value they provide to your data consumers.
Bio: Lisa loves data! She has been a recognized expert in the information management, data governance and data quality space for over 15 years. She received her Master’s Degree in Information Quality, and has had board level roles with many data management/governance organizations and is a frequent presenter on the topic of DATA. Through job roles Lisa has developed a deep understanding of the challenges that our current data deluge creates across a wide variety of industries including Higher Education. Currently Lisa manages a team of like experts supporting new products and technologies in data management at SAS and provides strategic support of SAS Education Practice.
